2016 has been a pretty great year for all of us here at Juggling Swords so we thought we’d put together a 2016 review of our best bits.
Back in May we celebrated Juggling Swords turning two with an office birthday bash. The company has grown a lot in that time, and we can’t wait to see what 2017 brings.
The rather fabulous Emily joined our team as an intern back in February on what was supposed to be a 20-week placement and she was such a great addition to the team that we hired her once her internship was over. Can this 2016 review get any better?!
We are now looking at recruiting another intern for 2017 so if you know anyone who may be interested, tell them to get in touch.
Our John was named in the Scottish Business News in their list of top 40 Scottish entrepreneurs under the age of 40 back in September.
“Getting a little bit of acknowledgement like this is a great feeling, especially when you have to put in crazy hours and manage a lot of challenges within a start-up agency,” he said at that time.
One of the highlights in our 2016 review: The team grew again in September when the wonderful Nathan joined. Nathan, formerly of the Big Partnership, brought a wide range of skills and knowledge and fits in perfectly with the rest of the team.
We had the pleasure of having a live podcast with the one and only Michael Nagle, head of social and digital content for Paddy Power, using Blab (which disappeared a week later, RIP Blab). It was great to hear from someone known for creating such humorous and engaging content and he answered questions from the many who tuned in.
When John and Nathan joined forces with their extensive PR knowledge and long list of contacts, Juggling Swords was able to add PR to the list of services we offer our clients and, not to blow our own trumpets, get some pretty damn good results for them.
We had the pleasure of attending the BRIT Awards, Paul Lawrie’s Matchplay tournament, the Edinburgh Fringe magazine launch, various fantastic expos, and our John presented seminars all over the UK, from Edinburgh and Glasgow to Chester.
We’ve created many a Facebook Live this year and have had fun doing it. From top tips to just random news, the engagement has been great and it’s allowed us to show clients the importance and relevance of Facebook Live to their success.
Our John, who’s a big craft beer fan, thought he would try his hand at brewing the first ever Juggling Swords beer. So far so good (nothing has exploded so that’s a good sign, right?). The beer is now sitting proudly in bottles waiting to be labelled and enjoyed. We’ll let you know how it tastes (if we all survive).
This year was a fantastic year for the growth of our client base. New clients included VMH, Jeffrey Street, Kennacoil and more recently Nutritious Lolly. We’ve seen some fantastic results over the past 12 months and our Desiree already has some new and exciting clients lined up to come on board in 2017.
We’re moving from Musselburgh to Leith. We’ve had a great two years in East Lothian but can’t wait to start a new chapter in 2017. Wow, this 2016 review has left us all emotional.
