Paddy Power Juggling Swords content marketing podcast

The Juggling Swords content marketing podcast for this week is an interview with Paddy Power’s head of content, Michael Nagle.

We were absolutely thrilled to get to speak to the man behind one of social media’s real heavyweight brands.

Paddy Power‘s content marketing campaigns are some of the most original, funny (and controversial) that can be found anywhere online. But it’s not all about making people laugh. As Micheal explains to Juggling Swords’ John Durrant, proving the return on investment from content marketing is very important to Europe’s largest bookmaker.

Three things to take away from the Juggling Swords content marketing podcast with Michael Nagle

  1. Get your tone of voice right from the very start. Don’t try to be something you’re not. If you’re a financial institution, for example, don’t try to speak like Paddy Power.
  2. Plan as much as you can but don’t be afraid to take advantage of trending topics or news that is relevant to your brand.
  3. Try new things! Paddy Power constantly trials new content ideas, new platforms and new ways to engage the audience. If you’re not using video in your content marketing, you should start, like yesterday!

About Paddy Power

The Irish bookmaker was formed in 1988 and is now Europe’s largest with a group value of around £500 million. In September 2015 it merged with its British rival Betfair to create a betting superpower.

We at Juggling Swords are a little bit in awe of Paddy Power’s content marketing prowess. The company doesn’t mind ruffling a few feathers with its no-holds-barred content that often proves controversial but its followers lap it up.
